Do you dream of living in true community? Where people really know and care
about each other? Can you imagine a village where children comfortably bounce from house to house? And where, instead of speeding cars serving as walls between neighbors, there are courtyards and squares beckoning residents to wander out and play? Do you yearn for opportunities to join hands in rebuilding the broader community? To gain partners in learning about - and living within - sustainable parameters? If you are like us, one or more of these is a secret wish. But in the face of the cookie-cutter housing developments that consume our suburban and wilderness landscapes, you've probably allowed your vision to founder. Well, dream again. And say hello to East Lake Commons. We are a group of people who want to live in a caring environment, in cooperation with each other and the land. Our 20 acres will be home to 67 families - and an unprecedented stretch of organic gardens - just 5 miles from downtown Atlanta, Georgia. Together, with a professional architectural team, we are designing our village to protect privacy, promote community, and honor the earth. Please join us as we bring to life a new vision of true community.
